Sommelier 101
As the name suggests, this innovative class is for both experienced and new wine drinkers: "Sommelier" - for people looking to develop wine expertise; "101" for people looking for an introduction to wine! Our novel approach uses a crash course in sommelier training to teach wine to all levels of expertise. We teach serious wine tasting and wine tasting exercises to help students make new discoveries about personal taste! Students meet weekly over the course of four (4) weeks for 2 to 2

hours. Exercises include exposure to aromas and foods "found" in wine, wine classification and the aroma wheel, food pairings, and blind tastings and aroma testing. We are partnered with WineStyles, so we can pass along great discounts on wine as well as utilize their customer-friendly wine classification system!
Class 1: Introduction to Wine Classification
In this class, you will learn about wine classification. We will explain how wine classfication organizes wines aromas, tastes, and feels by their intrinsic characteristics in an easy-to-understand manner!
Class 2: Art of Wine Tasting/Science of Winemaking
Learn how to taste like the experts and what makes great grapes and wine!
Class 3: The Spectrum of Whites
Discover the spectrum of white wines from dry to sweet, light to full bodied, and everything in between.
Class 4: The Spectrum of Reds
Discover the spectrum of red wines from dry to sweet, light to full bodied, and everything in between.
