Two of My Favorite Wine "Plays"

Gary Vaynerchuk reviewing Cameron Hughes wines. Cameron Hughes is like a "modern day negociant." They source wines from all over the world. Available at Costco and direct from their website => Cameron Hughes Wines . Good stuff I've found. Agree with the review. Want to add one point for debate/discussion: Cameron Hughes often suggests letting their big wines sit for several years. That's unusual for wines at this price point. Seems like it could be used as an excuse for wine that isn't quaffable or drinking really well young. I think that's bogus if the case. Wine should drink well young even if tight or if it could benefit from time. It seems like they ask you to take the plunge and believe them, but there's no recourse if the wine never "comes around." And, they've already got your dollar. I'm not accusing anyone of being dishonest, but what do others think? What have you found?

Millenials and Wine 2.0

I like the article below. It's a good overview and relates well to why I started WTB 2.5 years back.

Tips to Market Wine to Millenials

The significant points to me:
  • wine has become accessible to everyone, including a much younger crowd
  • market to where the audience is, don't make them come to you
  • wine is about experience, it needs to be incorporated in
  • multi-channel marketing is an absolute requirement, but an integrated, penetrating campaign is much more valuable
I provide a fair bit more data and analysis in a report prepared for wineries. If you'd like the report, let me know! You can request it at:
